From what I hear, our best rod for that is in the Graphite Plus line up, model, KFGS73 Frog and Slop.

If you insist on a Helium LTA, then I personally would be chunking the He76HC. With a longer rod, you will gain more control of those big fish in heavy cover quicker than if you were useing a shorter rod. At least stick with a Heavy powered rod with a fast flexible tip action!

Hope this helps you decide.

I agree with Trey on the 7'6" LTA heavy, but I also use the HE70HC, and the Magnesium series Jig and Toad rod, and have caught some nice fish in heavy cover with them. I can't speak for the Graphite series, but any one of the other 3 would also be great choices IMO.

Howeydog -

I have got to agree with Trey. I own the Graphite Plus Frog and Slop special. It is awesome for both applications (horny toads and frogs) and I love it. I throw 65lb braid on it and have had no problems with the guides. It has plenty of backbone to get fish that big out of cover with no problems!!! Got luck with your rod shopping, I would at least give this rod some consideration.
