Why did you pick Kistler

Postby basscop » 2/10/08 7:14am

Guys-

What made you all start throwing kistlers? I was thinking of this as I began to get my gear ready and noticed that I have alot of kistlers and I am going to start to order back ups for my back ups :D , I think that kistlers are the lightest rods out there from experiance, i also love the customer service that you recieve when you call down and speak with any of the employees. I also like the way trey does not settle and is always trying to improve on the the product line. Keep up the good work.

I have to say the reason I started using Kistlers is because I picked one up one day at a local tackle shop, and I was blown away by the weight of the rod. I bought one, and when I went fishing with it, I did not want to put it down. The rods are super light, and I can feel even the slightest bites with them. The best thing for me though over the quality of the rod has to be the customer service you get from Kistler. I have talked to several people from Kistler including Trey on the phone, and you could not ask for better people to help you when you call.

When I first put the rod in my hands the feel was what initially got me hooked. The weight was almost non existent and I knew it would help my hook up ratio. Well, it did just that...I began feeling more bites, and could react to fish much quicker. I could also read the structure I fished much better. What also suprised me was the strength of the rod. I fish heavy cover lakes like Falcon, Choke, and Amistad... I'm usually trying to win a battle quickly. The rod has always held up to whatever situation I fish. Combining the Helium rods with Flouro Line is also very impressive...you feel every tap. Now, when I put another brand rod in my hands it just feels numb.

I started to use these rods because i use a magnesium when i went fishing with a guy on lake rosalie. I loved it, because it was light, sensitive and i had power to fight the fish with. So the next christmas i got a helium 2 LTX, and i love it!

Kistlers are great rods. I have loved using them since the first time I took one on the water. Aside from the other comments already posted (light weight, highly sensitive, and great customer service), I have found a great appreciation for the lack of fatigue at the end of tournament day after using my Kistlers. To Trey and the other Kistler staff...Keep up the good work.

I fell in love with the feel and sensitivity of the rods from the moment I picked up my first Kistler. Within in 2 months I had totally changed all my rods over to Kistler. The customer service is the best around.

The why is simple...

Postby Slide_R » 2/14/08 11:38am

I began using a Kistler because I wanted the most sensitive fishing tool I could own and give myself an advantage in my bass club. The rod (then) and rods (now) have given me that advantage.

Winning tournaments helps build a certain credibility that in turn allows me opportunities to share about Jesus Christ. That is a message that far exceeds the material gifts of this world. None of this is mine, it is all a bounty that the Lord provides

I continue to purchase Kistler because I believe in the company. The customer service department has taken care of me and Trey Kistler's profession of faith helps me believe I am supporting a company that has more to it than simple profit motives.

Thank you for a great product and a public testimony.
God Bless,

Picking Kistler, honestly happened by chance. I actually went to a tackle shop with a buddy to pick up several of another brand of rod. I had used a couple of my buddy's rods when I was trying to decide which brand I was going to upgrade to, and this was to be an upgrade. After several years of fishing with chain sporting goods store rods, I was going to make the jump to a well know, rather expensive line of rods.

Well, as I was making my choices for the first 4 rods I was going to purchase that particular day, I happened to see a display of Kistler rods. Not knowing anything about them, I asked the owner for his imput, and made the "MISTAKE" of picking one up. I was really impressed when I had that first Helium LTA in my hand. So I asked the shop owner for a reel, which really balanced the rod nicely. Then, I bought a spool of line and spooled the reel right there in the shop, borrowed a 1/2 oz sinker from the shop owner and out to the parking lot I went to make a few cast with the HE69APC in MH I had picked up. I spent about 10 minutes "out back" making different casts with this rod, and I was HOOKED.

I changed my mind that day and bought 4 LTA's. Now, just 3 years later, my rod locker is virtually all Kistler's, and I do not regret changing my mind at all. Kistler rods are the very best rod I've ever fished with, and I HAVE used a couple of the other "top-shelf" brands.

The Helium is my preferred rod, but I do have a couple of the Graphite Plus series crankbait and spinnerbait rods, which are perfiect for the application for which they are designed.

Thanks Trey and all those at Kistler, for your exceptional product and Customer Service.

Why did you pick Kistler

Postby rsburns » 2/16/08 2:45am

I learned about Kistler rods from my neighbor several years ago. Joe had fished an API (American Petroleum Institute) on Toledo Bend, and brought back a 6'6"MH "KISTLER" rod which he had received as a door prize. Although this rod looked basically like most other rods at that time (it had a full cork handle with the cork foregrip), I was immediately intrigued with a hook hanger which I had never seen before. Somehow, I eventually talked Joe out of that rod, and have appreciated the innovations of Kistler rods ever since.

Back in 2006, I met Trey Kistler in person at the Skeeter Owner's Tournament at Lake Fork. Before I even knew whom, or what, Trey Kistler was, our initial conversation focused on Jesus Christ. It didn't take me long to realize this was definitely a brother-in-Christ; we hit it off from there! My initial impression with Trey's personal integrity told me his company was something special, and I went over to Trey's booth and bought a rod from him right there on the spot.

As far as details of Trey, and his entire staff, I think Slide_R says it best: "...I continue to purchase Kistler because I believe in the company. The customer service department has taken care of me and Trey Kistler's profession of faith helps me believe I am supporting a company that has more to it than simple profits...."

I wholeheartedly support Trey, his ministry, and his company! It certainly is a blessing from our Heavenly Father. He has blessed us (those of us that have the privilege of fishing with Kistler rods) with the finest fishing rods, from a very gifted man whom has the wisdom and vision to dedicate his entire company to the glory Jesus Christ!!!

Trey, Matthew 4:19 certainly applies to you!

May God bless each of you-
