An He63APC Smallmouth

Postby jcheetam » 10/13/04 9:04am

It's been a few weeks since I have hit the water, so I was able to sneak out last night for a few hours of fishing with a friend. We managed a few decent keeper bass before we started trolling in to the dock. It was pretty dark and instead of retying to what would be considered a better nighttime bait (3/4 Ledgebuster with a huge Indiana blade), I continued throwing a 1/4 ounce GlamourShad spinnerbait (Sunfish) with two small willow blades. The result: a 21-inch smallie. The He63APC handled this fish beautifully! I've been throwing small (1/4 and 3/8 oz) spinnerbaits with this rod all summer and I couldn't be happier, especially after landing this fish. If you're looking for a spinnerbait rod to throw in tight quarters (docks, throwdowns, pilings) give the He63APC a look...

Nice fish Jeff.

Smallies are real fighters. Even a 2 lbr will bend the trebles on a crankbait. Tough fish.

Makes you think twice about stickin' your hand in the water after dark - don't it!?
