Postby wtmurdock » 10/17/07 1:59pm

Currently have 3 kistlers. i am looking for a good texas rig rod with 3/16-3/8 ounce weight fishing up to 12 foot deep. Wish to purchase a LTA. Any suggestions?

Depends on the type of cover you will be fishing. In light cover the 6'9" all purpose or the 7" medium heavy would work. My choice is the He70mhc, I have two and they work great for Texas rigging or jigging weedlines. If you will be fishing heavy cover such as milfoil I would recommend the 7'6" extra heavy to be able to pull the hawgs out.

I have both the HE70MHC, and the HE70HC. The HE70HC is the best rod for Texas rigs if you are going to be using a weight most of the time. The HE70MHC is a good choice for weightless texas rigs, wacky rigs, and light weighed plastics. Hopefully this will help you in your decision. Please let us know if you need any other help.
