Hey Lightninrod,
I have been looking at the Antares AR and it looks and sounds great. Do you have one or used one??? I have 4 TD-Z's now, and love them all, but I also have a couple of Scorpion Metanium MG's, and I think I like them nearly as well. I have always liked Shimano's drag system. It may be in my mind, because I've used them so long, but it seems like I can cast better with Shimano!!! What about the Antares MG??? I throw a lot of heavier stuff and need something that will stand up to it. Besides, the TD-Z's are so expensive I hate to use them because I don't want to get a scratch on 'em!!!

Andy: I have three Antares ARs and love using them. IMO, they are a little 'hardier/stouter' than my TDZs. I think their drag(Dartanium) system is superior to the TDZ's. Therfore, I pitch a jig, throw a swimbait(heavy weight), and C-rig with my Antares ARs. Don't hesitate to get one .

Thanks, and let me know when it's out!!! I'm fixin' to go over and take this pile of reels that I've bought, along with the 11 Kistler rods I now have, and let Trey & Clifford tell me what I need, what I need to get rid of or add to. I just got a box from Japantackle with 9 new reels, and a TD-Z type R+ on the way. I know I need a couple more rods to finish me off!!!
