Here is a message I just sent to Kistler.
Do you think I am covered for anything?

This is sickening.
I loved that rod.

---

Hello Kistler,

I have a He70MHC LTA rod, I bought online, that I have been enjoying for about 3 years now and many fish later.
I rave about this rods to fellow fishermen.
Yesterday, upon hookset it made a loud "pop" and broke two feet from the tip. I have never had this happen, even from my much older Shimano V-Rods and Daiwa Heartland-Z rods.

I am an experienced bass fisherman who takes care of his equipment religiously. Never has this Helium ever been banged around or stepped on.
While reviewing your warranty, it appears that I am out of luck.
Is this true?

Sincerely,
Ted

OBTW: Here is a nice bass I caught on that rod, the same day, before it snapped (obviously). :)

Man I loved that rod.

You gotta like it when a company makes a great product and then stands behind it.

I recently snapped my He2MH69S rod about between the 6th and 7th eyelets while smallmouth fishing. I was also glad to find out that I was covered, which goes a long way towards spreading the word of such a good product. The only downfall I had was my backup was a Gander Mountain Guide Series, which I almost couldn't fish with because of the overall performance of my LTX. Thank you Kistler!

that's great! It's awsome that a compnay backs their product. Customer Service is what it's all about.
That's why I fish out of a Basscat, while using my Kistlers! 8)

I recently got my replacement rod (9/4), and from shipping date to received date was extremely quick, not to mention the rod had to travel from Michigan to Texas and back. Thank you again Kistler for great customer service and satisfaction!!!

another broken rod story

Postby thebosst127 » 11/26/07 4:14pm

I too have been the victim of a broken rod on a retrieve. I set the hook on a muskie (unintentionally) during a bass tourney and my Helium LTA broke right near a line guide. I figured since I didn't have my receipt I'd try to mend it following some tips I found online, but I just can't do it. Is there any help for me in replacing this beloved stick?
