all purpose spinning rod

Postby sandman » 1/22/07 3:19pm

This one is for Trey and all others who may have info on this. I am trying to decide which spinning rod would be good to throw a dropshot and lures like a shaky head and maybe a weightless worm. I dont use a spinning reel much but I got a new reel recently and its got to have a kistler on it. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I am planning on using 8lb. line on the reel so it definitly will be a finesse rig. Thanks ahead for the info, Jason.

My suggestion to you would be the He70MS, I use mine to throw tubes and 4" weightless centipedes. There's probably not anything that you could not use this rod for. I recently ordered three, hopefully they will arrive today. There are certain models that I always have to order extras of because everytime I turn around my fishing partner has them in his hands. Can't say I ( - - blocked - - ) him.

Jason,

I would recommend the HE70MS. I have two of them and they are perfect for drop shotting, jigworming and light Texas rigs.

Jason,

Both of the response are good opinions. That He70MS is a very versatile stick. If you don't want to spend that much money, then there is a sweet rod made for what you want to do. It is the MgDSFWML69S, Drop Shot - Finesse Worm Med-Light Spin 6'9".

Super nice feel and light weight balance. Perfect for light line and the length is really comfortable for all day fishing.

Hope this helps. Either way, you will be happy.
