10/01/06--DT 10 and Swimming Senko Bass on a HE70MC

Postby Lightninrod » 10/1/06 1:20pm

Went back to the swamp pond today; sunny, partly cloudy, wind-off and on, muddy water, and air temps in the mid-80s. Fished from 10 AM to 1 PM. Saw a 7' gator as I disturbed it from its sun-nap on a log.

Caught two from the bank with the SS. Caught 4 or 5 more small ones on the SS.

Was in about 9-10' of water at mid-day when I started throwing a Rapala DT 10. First cast brought a 4lber in. Missed two hits and then landed a 6 lber and a 2lber, all in the same area. They must have been stacked up or schooling thru this area as I've never had so many hits on a bait even taking time to take two pics and banging the boat. They just kept on hitting that cr/bait.

Back near where I get out, I threw the SS in about 3' of water and picked up the last Bass, a 3lber. Best Bassin' there(or anywhere) in a while.

Hey Dan, how do you like that Swimming Senko? does it act like a Fluke or what?

TA: I'm a little underwhelmed with it. It seems to be made of a different/harder formula soft-plastic which means it should last longer. I wish they were longer :? . I'm not sure that the original Senko won't catch the same Bass as the SS and the SSs are a little more expensive. The only advantage I see over the original is the ability to 'buzz' it across the surface with the new tail making a subtle, baitfish sound but the way cheaper Zoom Vibra Tail Speed Worm will do the same thing at about half the cost

And, thank you for looking/replying to my post. :D
