Alton Jones "Kills" With a Kistler Rod!

By Staff | Fri, 21 Dec 2007

Recently, Kistler Rods was covered in an article on the Professional Anglers Association’s (PAA) website. Kistler Sales Manager, Clifford Wiedman, was interviewed on what sponsors look for from those whom they sponsor. Wiedman stated that sponsors look for anglers to report on anything that they have done to promote their product(s).  Wiedman states that an angler’s report should include “any sort of word of mouth or other activities, especially if you mention our products, I want to know about it”.

Kistler Pro Staff member, Alton Jones, recently shared with Bass Fan, an event that happened during a recent fishing trip with his son on Falcon Lake.

"We were out in the middle of the lake and it was dead calm, and I saw something on the water coming toward us. It turned out it was a 6-foot rattlesnake that was as big around as both of my biceps."
He had to kill the snake to keep it from coming on board.
"There's no doubt it was coming to the boat because it was tired – we were about a mile and a half from the nearest point of land. But it was coming right to the driver's seat, and I couldn't just start up the motor and drive away. "If there was ever a good emergency use for a Kistler swimbait rod, that was it. That thing was as big around as a softball."

Be sure to see our rods used on the “Scott Martin Challenge”. Scott exclusively uses Kistler Rods and he is a valued member of the Kistler Pro Staff. His show has a unique format where he challenges a fellow angler on a particular body of water. It is a fun and informative show.
