Welcome back to the best season for fishing when the leaves turn colors, the air turns crisp and the fish turn on. Well, if you are not ready yet, then it's time to get pumped up and get out there on the water to enjoy what God created for us.

It's been awhile since I've updated you on anything so I figured it was time to at least fill you in on what's new and offer you a special fall-season deal. Also, we're looking for your involvement over the next few months with your participation in our survey polls on the web site forum. I hope you will voice your opinion to help us build better rods for you.

Updated Due to Increased Demand!

It's the year of the KISTLER MICRO guided rods! Yes, that is a micro statement I know, but you have to believe me when I say it is something macro soon. I'm talking about tiny little guides that are as small as a hook eye! WHY you ask? Well, I'll tell you just a few of the reasons that these mini guides offer us an advantage over conventional sized guides.

1. What are we all looking for? LIGHTER WEIGHT! Yes, these guides weigh a whole ¼ ounce less than conventional! That's a worm weight lighter! Wow!
2. TRANSMIT MORE VIBRATION! Yes, because of the reduced mass in the  frames, you will feel more bites as the rod vibrates more due to the overall decreased weight! Wow!
3. LESS TANGLES OR DAMAGED GUIDES! Yes, because of the tiny size, you will enjoy a hassle free day of fishing when you compare it to the typical tangled mess of rods or crushed rings we all are used to.

Now that's just three benefits and I haven't even mentioned the others. Maybe next month I'll fill you in when we begin to take preorders.

After receiving dozens of questions about the news on Micro guides, I have put together a even more advantages to help everyone hear the facts straight from me.

1. Believe it or not, Micro guide offer longer casts. I tested the very coily Gamma 17lb fluorocarbon line as well as many other types of lines and proved it true when compared to conventional guides.
2. No more guide frame torque which sometimes causes blank twisting failure due to conventional guided rods.
3. Japan rod makers and US custom rod builders have proven this micro guide set up over the past 20 years. Kistler Rods is the first to make it available to the public in both an affordable stock model and custom built rods.
4. Available stocked models are Micro Magnesium 7' Med, Med-Heavy and Heavy powered rods. You are welcome to pre-order by calling our office anytime. First come, first serve because the run is limited to only a few hundred pre-2010-stock, then we'll have more stock next year, if we're lucky.

"Build You Own Rod"

Yes sir, you will be able to build your own rod right here on the web site!

Your very own Custom designed rod with everything from your favorite length and shaped handle, color of threads, quality of guides and even a personalized engraving option plus much more. Finally, we have developed our own counter balance kit that can be used on any new and old Kistler Rod! No, this opportunity will not be too expensive for the average angler at all. We are going to offer many different options to help just about anyone build their very own Custom rod to their specs.

This feature is coming real soon as we're still working on the fine tuning details as you can imagine this is a big "first of its kind" undertaking. Start constructing your ideal rod in your head or on paper so you are ready when we announce it sometime this fall. Our plans are to be set up to get your rod out in 2-6 weeks depending on available manpower as only our best rod builders will be working on your special orders. Tell a friend about this feature or better yet, surprise him with a gift while you treat yourself as well.

Z-bone Preview

It's been a work in progress for over two years and I've finally pulled the trigger on this project! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! We have a new logo and we are so proud of the look and design that will be seen all over our new 2010 apparel and stickers very soon. Watch for the announcements this fall for that and make plans to be the first to own one of the finest Kistler Rods ever made. 

Our New Limited Edition Z-bone rods will definitely help you catch more fish and enjoy your hobby more than ever before. The best part of this entire project is the special graphite blanks being built by the one and only Gary Loomis and his team at "North Fork Composites"!  You know that man who built GLoomis rods and proved to the world that he can build the best graphite blank on earth. Well, we all are now able to once again take advantage of his next generation of technology in graphite. Lighter, stronger and more sensitive than any other rod I have ever tested, period.
